The V Foundation for Cancer Research, a top-rated cancer research charity, is excited to announce Virginia Vine will be held April 27 at Stone Tower Winery and the Salamander Resort & Spa in Loudoun County, Va. Over the years, Virginia Vine has raised more than $1 million for cutting-edge cancer research. The V Foundation is honored to have Joe Theismann, entrepreneur and former quarterback of the Super Bowl XVII champion Washington Redskins, back for the fourth year to host the event. The V Foundation is pleased to welcome Paul Begala, commentator for CNN and professor at Georgetown University, as an honored guest and featured speaker.
“Virginia Vine is a celebration with great wine, food and people,” said Susan Braun, CEO of the V Foundation. “We celebrate our successes in cancer research and step into the challenge of raising funds for the cancer cures of the future.”
Friday evening, the V Foundation will host a welcome reception for VIPs at the Salamander Resort & Spa. The following morning, the V Foundation will hold a cancer research symposium, open to the public, at the Salamander Resort & Spa.

Saturday evening guests are invited to “Raising Spirits, Raising Hope … An Evening of Fine Wine, Food and Conversation” at Stone Tower Winery in Leesburg, Va. Guests will enjoy a cocktail reception, followed by a seated, three-course meal, paired with Stone Tower Winery’s exceptional wines. The event will include a silent and live auction in addition to a “Fund-A-Need.” The funds raised will be granted to Virginia Vine’s three mission partners – Inova Schar Cancer Institute, University of Virginia Health System Cancer Center and Virginia Commonwealth University Massey Cancer Center – to support prostate cancer research, as well as groundbreaking research projects across the country.
