Chanda Douglas-Ward

Vice President of Human Resources

Chanda Douglas-Ward is a human resources professional with more than 25 years of experience in the non-profit sector. After holding positions in various non-profit organizations and consulting, Chanda joined the V Foundation in July 2021.

As the Vice President of Human Resources for the V Foundation, Douglas-Ward is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of HR, including talent acquisition, benefits administration, training and development, employee engagement, DEI initiatives, performance management and strategic workforce planning and development. She is member of the Executive Management Team and leads several workforce committees.

Prior to joining the V Foundation, Douglas-Ward worked at Alamance Community College in Graham, NC. She served as the Director of Human Resources and oversaw all aspects of HR.  She provided counsel and direction to over 250 full-time faculty and staff as well as 300+ adjunct faculty and part-time staff.   Prior to Alamance Community College, Douglas-Ward served as Human Resources Director at Saint Augustine’s University; Senior Vice President of Human Resources at the Mid-Atlantic Affiliate of the American Heart Association; Human Resources Director at All Kinds of Minds; Human Resources Director for two community health centers – Advance Community Health and Piedmont Health Services and Human Resources Director at the North Carolina Biotechnology Center in Research Triangle Park.

Douglas-Ward earned her B.A. degree in Public Policy Analysis with a concentration in Health Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  She pursued additional study to obtain her Master of Business Administration from Elon University.

Douglas-Ward currently resides in Durham with her husband, Gregory, and her son, Jonathan. She is a native of Rocky Mount, NC.
