Rick is a seasoned leader who works with tech companies to accelerate growth and profitability as a board member, coach, board advisor, and C-Suite advisor. Additionally, Rick and his family are deeply involved in several important charitable causes.
Rick currently serves on the boards of Neat Video, Disruptive Technologies, CBTS and as an advisor to the Board of Saviynt. Additionally, Rick served on the boards of Ava Unified Security and Next DLP – where he helped build and scale these businesses, and ultimately lead the sale of these successful companies to tech market leaders – Ava to Motorola Solutions in 2022, and Next DLP to Fortinet in 2024.
Passionate about giving back, Rick serves on the Board of Don’t Ever Give Up, the V Foundation, where he and the V Team are relentlessly pursuing Victory over Cancer.
Rick works closely with his portfolio of companies providing coaching in areas including strategy, culture, leadership, team development, sales, operations, marketing and routes-to-market. Known for his high energy level, direct communications style, genuine nature, strong values, sales focus, and terrific relationships across the tech world, Rick leverages these foundational attributes at the board level, and in hands-on coaching roles.
In the previous chapter of his career, Rick served as the Senior Vice President of Americas Partner Sales at Cisco where his teams generated $25B+ in revenue through partners across all technology pillars – including security, cloud, SaaS, data center, observability, networking and collaboration.
Also at Cisco, Rick led the Global and Strategic Partner Organization, where his teams were responsible for the 360 degree relationships and growth of Cisco’s top business relationships across the globe – among them – Google, AWS, IBM, Red Hat, Microsoft, Apple, SAP, Dell, EMC, VCE, VMWare, NetApp, Oracle, NTT, Samsung, Fujitsu, Hitachi, BMC, Wipro, TCS, Cognizant and HCL.
From 2005 through 2010, Rick served as President of TANDBERG, where he helped scale the company from $300M to over $1B in sales. Cisco acquired TANDBERG for $3.5B in 2010, and Rick led the integration of this business into Cisco.
After earning an internship with AT&T through Loyola University, Rick continued in a management development program there – and later progressed through bag carrying sales roles into key sales leadership, general management, C-suite and CEO roles in the tech arena.
Rick graduated from Loyola University in Maryland, and grew up in Baltimore, MD.
