Hockey Fights Cancer x The V Foundation Year One
Celebrating its 25th anniversary, and newly powered by the V Foundation for Cancer Research, Hockey Fights Cancer’s fundraising pace was drastically elevated, raising over $4 million this season. Together with the V Foundation, the NHL Players’ Association and the NHL are proud to announce that $2.9 million will go directly to life-saving cancer research, reaffirming our dedication to fighting cancer over the next quarter century.
Ahead of the first game of the Stanley Cup Finals, NHL commissioner Gary Bettman, NHL Players’ Association Executive Director Marty Walsh and V Foundation CEO Shane Jacobson announced the HFC fundraising total for the 23-24 season at the press conference. During the game, HFC partner AstraZeneca presented the V Foundation with a $500,000 donation through their Hat Trick Challenge, donating to cancer research for every hat trick scored this season.
